Fujifilm X-H1 vs X-T2 – The complete comparison

Updated on: March 5th 2019

The X-T2 (and the X-T1 that came before it) has greatly contributed to increasing the popularity of Fujifilm’s mirrorless cameras. It is one of the best examples of the company’s overriding philosophy: an old-school, compact and functional design that packs excellent performance. The X-T line sat at the top of the range for four years, pleasing both amateurs and professional users with the right mix of specifications and features.

But in an ever-evolving market where brands are putting more and more effort into high-end products, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Fujifilm has decided to re-organise the X-series by introducing an even more advanced camera. The X-H1 inherits the role of flagship model and aims to meet the needs of the most demanding photographers.

Comparing Sony with Fujifilm is always an interesting exercise because the two companies have opposite approaches when it comes to designing cameras. Sony A7R II vs A7R III – The complete comparison

sony a7rii vs a7riii

Updated on: May 5th, 2019

The Sony A7R mark II is probably the mirrorless camera I’ve used more than any other since I began reviewing photography gear five years ago. When it was announced in June 2015, it looked like it was going to be a real game-changer, so I vowed to dedicate as much time as possible to testing it in every possible condition, while also enjoying it as my go-to camera.

I wasn’t expecting its successor to be as much of a game-changer, but rather a more mature product that would focus on fixing flaws and limitations, and addressing issues found on the previous model in order to give the photographer a better experience. And I have to say that the A7R mark III does exactly that.

Updated on: January 14th, 2020

In all my time reviewing cameras, never have I received so many requests to write about a specific product as I have with the Panasonic Lumix G9. Many of you have been patiently waiting for this article, and some of you have kindly shared suggestions and early findings after purchasing the camera for yourselves, which I am grateful for.

I am already very familiar with the OM-D E-M1 II but it was a pleasure to use it again and see how it stacked up against such fierce competition as the G9, especially now that the Olympus camera is coming up on its second birthday (which is a lifetime on the electronic consumer market).

As for the G9, well, it surprised me in ways I wasn’t expecting, which forced me to re-evaluate some of my views. And when that happens, it makes my work much more fun!
