The Panasonic Lumix DMC GX85 is a mid-range mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with a Micro Four Thirds mount. It is known as the GX80 in Europe or the GX7 mark II in Asia. This naming system was mostly likely adopted to discourage grey market sales, though Panasonic has not confirmed one way or the other.

Panasonic Lumix G9 vs Olympus OM-D E-M1 II – The complete comparison

Updated on: January 14th, 2020

In all my time reviewing cameras, never have I received so many requests to write about a specific product as I have with the Panasonic Lumix G9. Many of you have been patiently waiting for this article, and some of you have kindly shared suggestions and early findings after purchasing the camera for yourselves, which I am grateful for.

I am already very familiar with the OM-D E-M1 II but it was a pleasure to use it again and see how it stacked up against such fierce competition as the G9, especially now that the Olympus camera is coming up on its second birthday (which is a lifetime on the electronic consumer market).

Olympus Pen F vs. Panasonic Lumix GX8 – Quick 20MP sensor comparison

panasonic gx7 vs olympus pen f

The very first Micro Four Thirds camera to receive a 20MP sensor was the Panasonic Lumix GX8. Announced back in July 2015, we knew it was only a matter of time before Olympus released a 20MP sensor camera of its own.

Instead of choosing to debut the new sensor on one of the high-end OM-D cameras, Olympus opted to give it the Pen F, the latest model in the Pen line-up. We highly suspect that it is the same Sony 20MP MFT sensor used inside the GX8, although pigs will fly before rival companies openly admit to using the same technology!
