The Sony a6000 may have been released back in early 2014 but it remains one of the most – if not the most – popular mirrorless model on the market.
One of its primary rivals is the Canon EOS M50 whose specifications and price point are quite similar despite the fact that it debuted approximately four years after the Sony model.
Today Fujifilm announced the latest model in its series of entry-level cameras, the X-A7. Although it formally replaces the X-A5, it is fair to wonder how it compares to a similar entry-level product from Fujifilm, the X-T100. Let’s take a look at all the main differences below!
In terms of price, the Samyang Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AF is the first 85mm lens in the FE catalogue to compete on an an equal footing with Sony’s own 85mm f/1.8 lens. Both cost in the region of $600 US, making them more affordable than the Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 (which currently retails for around $900 US) and the expensive Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM.
The main difference between them, of course, is that the Samyang Rokinon lens has a marginally faster aperture than the Sony lens – an appealing characteristic given that it is first and foremost a portrait lens. This raises the question of whether it is worth considering the Sony lens at all if you can have a faster aperture at the same price by opting for Samyang’s alternative.
