The Sony A7 III is a full frame mirrorless camera with a 24MP BSI sensor, fast autofocus system with 693 phase detection points (the same as the flagship A9), 10fps continuous shooting capabilities, 4K video and many other things. It is part of the third generation of A7 cameras in the E-mount series and is the prosumer model. It shares the same design as the A9 and A7R III (AF Joystick, Dual SD card, Larger battery, etc.) but comes at a more attractive price.

The Sony NEX 5 is one of the earlier models in Sony’s range of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. In addition to having a compact rangefinder-like body, it also comes with a 14.2MP APS-C sensor, a contrast detection AF system with 25 points, a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 of a second, 7fps continuous shooting, and AVCHD 1080/60i HD video. It was replaced by the NEX 5N in late 2011.

The Sony A7R mark II is probably the mirrorless camera I’ve used more than any other since I began reviewing photography gear five years ago. When it was announced in June 2015, it looked like it was going to be a real game-changer, so I vowed to dedicate as much time as possible to testing it in every possible condition, while also enjoying it as my go-to camera.

I wasn’t expecting its successor to be as much of a game-changer, but rather a more mature product that would focus on fixing flaws and limitations, and addressing issues found on the previous model in order to give the photographer a better experience. And I have to say that the A7R mark III does exactly that.
