Lumix G9 II vs OM-1

The 5 Main Differences

Curious to discover the five most important differences between the Panasonic G9 II and OM System OM-1? Let's take a look!

1. SENSOR The G9 II features a 25.2MP sensor, whereas the OM-1 has a BSI 20.4MP sensor with Quad Pixel Bayer design. Concerning the ISO, the Lumix starts from 100 and the OM-1 from 200

2. VIDEO The G9 II has more advanced video specs you won't find on the OM-1, including 5.8K "open gate" and 5.7K recording, 4K up to 120p, Prores and anamorphic formats.

3. SPEED With the electronic shutter, the G9 II offers 60fps with continuous AF or 75fps with Single AF. If that is not enough, the OM-1 can deliver 120fps in S-AF (with C-AF, it’s 50fps).

4. VIEWFINDER The G9 II has a decent 0.5-in OLED panel with 3.69M dots and 0.78x magnification. The OM-1 offers a larger 0.83x magnification and higher resolution (5.76M dots).

5. SSD  The G9 II lets you record photos and movies to a USB SSD drive. You can save long clips without worrying about SD cards, and you can plug the drive into your computer and start editing right away.
