1. LENS MOUNT The lens mount is different: RF for the R100, EOS M for the M50 II. Lenses designed for the R100 won’t work on the M50 II, and vice versa.

2. MONITOR The R100 has a fixed rear LCD with no touch sensitivity. The M50 II has a multi-angle touch screen that you can flip to the side and rotate 180˚.

3. DRIVE SPEED The R100 has modest continuous shooting capabilities: 6.5fps with One-Shot AF, and 3.5fps with Servo AF. The M50 II is faster: 10fps and 7.4fps respectively.

4. ISO SENSITIVITY The ISO levels are different, with the older M model having one stop extra range: R100: 100-25,600 M50 II: 100-51,200

5. PRICE  The R100 starts at $600 / £670 / €700 (with the RF-S 18-45mm). The M50 mark II has a similar price with the EF-M 15-45mm: $600, £630 or €680
