1. SENSOR Both feature 24MP, but the R100 uses an old sensor and image processor. It also has a smaller ISO range compared to the R50.

2. AUTOFOCUS The R50 has a more advanced phase detection system, that works for 4K video and includes more subject tracking capabilities (animals and  vehicles).

3. VIDEO Both cameras can record 4K movies, but with a major difference. The R100 applies a heavy 1.6x crop on the sensor, which significantly reduces the angle of view.

4. LCD SCREEN The R100 has a fixed monitor with no touch capabilities. That of the R50 is touch sensitive, and has a multi-angle mechanism.

5. PRICE  The R100 costs $600 / £670 / €700 with the RF-S 18-45mm kit lens. The R50, with the same lens, starts at $800 / £900 / €930.
