1. SENSOR DESIGNThe main difference is the increase in megapixel count from 26.1MP on the X-T4 to 40.2MP on the X-T5. The X-T5 also sports the X-Processor 5, which is twice as fast as the one found in the X-T4.
2. CONTINUOUS SHOOTINGWith the mechanical shutter, both can do 15fps. Switch to the e-shutter, and the X-T4 can go up to 20fps, or 30fps if you accept a 1.25x crop. The X-T5 can do 20fps but with a 1.29x crop.
3. PIXEL SHIFTThe X-T5's Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function increases the resolution by a factor of four by capturing 20 frames with a single shutter button press. The X-T4 lacks this mode.
4. LCD AND EVFThe X-T4 has a vari-angle 3.0″ 1.62m-dot LCD, while the X-T5 has a 1.84 million dot three-way tilting LCD screen. The X-T4’s EVF offers 0.75x magnification while the X-T5’s has 0.8x.
5. AUTOFOCUSThe autofocus on the X-T5 has been improved over the previous model with the addition of Deep Learning technology. It includes advanced algortihms to detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, planes and trains.
7. WHITE BALANCEThe X-T5 offers Deep Learning technology for AWB. It is able to more accurately recognise the colour of warm light in comparison to the standard AWB mode.
9. VIDEOThe X-T5 can record 6.2K movies up to 30p. It can also record 10-bit 4:2:2 internally. The X-T4 offers 4K up to 60p (with a small 1.18x crop), as well as 10-bit 4:2:0 internal recording.
